2016 Highlights

Happy New Year, darlings!  I took some much needed R&R over the last 10 days and have been a little MIA around here.  Today is my first day back behind the computer and catching up on all things Darling including my goals for 2017!  Last year brought so many wonderful opportunities my way and I am so excited for what this new year has in store for me but before I completely close the chapter on 2016 I wanted to share some of my favorite moments and looks with all of you.

I loved the color in this outfit from last Spring.  I typically shy away from bold, colorful looks and lean towards neutrals but there is something so simple about the shades and pattern in this Kate Spade skirt.  Maybe one of this year’s resolutions should be to embrace color…am I right?!

Every Spring my wardrobe evolves to a daily Coachella chic mix of booties, gladiators, cool crossbody bags, and boho dresses.  Last year I was addicted to the sale section of Revolve and scored so many amazing pieces for a fraction of the cost, like this dress that was on sale for $29!

2016 marked my 3rd Anniversary of “Party Chella” a weekend filled with Coachella party after Coachella party at some of the coolest spots in the Desert.  PopSugar’s annual Cabana Club is always a fave of mine with the best nosh, unique drinks, and great gifting.  Last year was actually my first time attending the annual #VestalVillage sponsored by Vestal Watches and I am so excited to check it out again this year.  The party was located at a small lake with plenty of drinks, awesome ceviche, great DJs, and of course, a welcome cocktail at the valet drop.

Going to Coachella each year is hands down one of my favorite traditions.  Something about the music, the people, the food, the escape from reality for 72 hours that makes it all feel so special.  In case you missed it, the 2017 lineup was announced yesterday and all I can say is DAMN!

I loved getting to shoot with new photographers in 2016 including the lovely and talented, Dre Naylor.  The looks we shot in the mountains outside of Palm Springs are beyond amazing!

I love getting out of town, even if it’s just for a weekend, and that’s exactly what we did for Labor Day.  It was so nice spending the day at the beach, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with the kids on Coronado.  More weekends at the beach, also a New Year’s resolution!

Desert Trip was certainly one for the books.  Seeing some of rocks biggest legends was worth every single penny we spent.  Desert Trip 2017, I’m coming for you!

Let’s do this, 2017!

XO, Niki
