Hey there, darlings! Day 2 of our Vegas adventure was unbelievable…honestly, I’m not quite sure how but each moment just kept getting better and better. This trip was so different for me than previous visits. I am used to doing Vegas with a huge group of girls where day time is cabanas & pool parties while evenings start with a big party in the room to get ready, a nice dinner & bottle service until the wee hours of the morning. There was no pool this trip (though I’m not sure why…I really wanted to hang poolside) and getting ready in a room with your boyfriend napping isn’t as entertaining as a room full of girls, makeup, flat irons, and champagne (sorry honey), BUT what this trip lacked in estrogen it made up for in rosé, delicious meals, great times with Chris & our friends, and memories that I will always have (sappy, I know)…
On Me: Dress (ON SALE!) // Hat // Sandals (old but similar HERE) // Bag
On Chris: Pants // T-shirt (under $20!)
We did brunch at Bouchon Bistro (God Bless Thomas Keller) after seeing their Rosé menu online before we left. I am such a fan girl when it comes to rosé, I should probably work on that… Anyway, we had a beautiful blue velvet booth with views of the floor to ceiling french doors with natural light pouring in (a rarity in Sin City, I promise you). We shared a bottle of wine and ordered oysters, mussels, Rillettes aux deux Saumons, quiche, and plenty of baquette. I think the best part of the meal was just sitting, relaxing, and not feeling the pressure to hurry through the experience.
The Bouchon floor was on point.
I think this is my favorite photo of the entire weekend.
After lunch we decided to make our way over to The Wynn for more rosé…shocking…and a peak into some of the shops inside the casino. I have been obsessed with a Chloe Drew bag for a while but had never been into Chloe to see one in person so when I saw their boutique I literally grabbed Chris’s arm and dragged him in with me! Once I said farewell to my future bag we found the cutest little bar, Parasol Up, and ordered up another bottle of wine. Can I just say one more time how nice it was to have NO SCHEDULE to stick to???
We decided to do dinner at Zara’s hotel, The SLS, and made reservations for sushi at Katsuya, a favorite of mine from LA. I was the only one in the group who had already been and it was fun to order some of my favorites like the Yellowtail with Jalepeño, the Creamy Rock Shrimp, and the Albacore with Crispy Onion. We honestly ordered so many rolls, appetizers, and drinks…I am pretty sure I had to waddle out!
The drinks were soooo yummy!
After dinner we went to Hyde to take in the view of the Bellagio Fountains from inside and have some champagne. I am much more a fan of smaller, intimate clubs (like I mentioned yesterday) so Hyde totally fit the bill. We ended the night at the Baccarat Bar with a round of Old Fashions before going our separate ways.
Before making it back to the hotel Chris and I made a random stop at Tropicana, a spot each of us had been back in the day but hadn’t seen in years…news flash: despite the exterior paint, nothing has changed inside. We then grabbed a 2:30am slice of pizza & beer at New York New York before calling it a night.
Stay tuned for more from the Vegas trip later this week!
XO, Niki
