In case you hadn’t heard, burgundy is having a major moment.  I am always a sucker for the rich, jewel tones of Fall and Holiday, which tend to be more flattering on my skin tone, and this burgundy shade is no exception.  Thankfully there is no shortage of the color in stores right now…dresses, sweaters, jackets, even denim done in the deep wine color are everywhere!

As the weather (finally) cools I love layering dresses with my denim and leather jackets and adding low booties instead of my usual sandals.  I love the look of pairing this maxi, that is really full in the skirt, with a cropped style jacket like this denim option from Nordstrom.  The combination of the full skirt with the shorter length jacket immediately draws the eye to the waist, creating an hourglass silhouette.
