Neutral

If you have be following along for any considerable time you know this about me: I am a sucker for neutrals.  For better or worse I rarely gravitate to bold, bright color or patterns and instead opt for classic shades of black, grey, tan, white, navy.  I have always found that it is easier to look chic and sophisticated in those classic colors, plus it’s way easier to re-wear pieces in my wardrobe!  No joke, 75% of my closet falls in the “neutral” category and the pieces that are bold/bright tend to be dresses because for some reason I feel that when playing with pattern/color it should be in a dress that is a statement piece.

I have been on a pretty significant wardrobe rework this Summer and have purged old pieces that just don’t fit into my existing aesthetic and have been picking up classic pieces that I can incorporate in; like this white eyelet tank (that I also picked up in navy), these brown slides (that have been all over  my Insta), and a stack of these Gap linen tees that are perfect now with shorts or skirts but will look great with denim & a sweater once it cools back down.

Sticking to a palate has also made my weekend packing soooo much easier!  I used to plan all these outfits and have to bring shoes and bags and accessories for each which was always so crazy since I wouldn’t wear half of it.  Now I am able to pack 2 or 3 pair of shoes that work with everything, one bag for daytime and one for evening, a jacket that works with everything and maybe a dress…voila!

Speaking of packing, Chris & I are heading to Vegas on Monday for a few days and I can’t wait!  He has some work meetings and I plan to tag along for some pool fun, shopping, and yummy food.  Be sure to follow along on my InstaStories to see highlights from the trip!

XO, Niki
