I’m sure that with the start of the Nordstrom Nordstrom Nordstrom sale and every blogger suddenly interrupting the bikini pics with Fall sweaters and cute jackets you all must be O V E R the Fall fashion bandwagon. Don’t worry, I’m not about to go full force into my cool weather style and what I will be wearing once the temperature finally drops because in Palm Springs, Fall exists for about a week. Now, that being said, I did do a shopping trip with one of my besties a few days ago and picked up a few killer deals that I am looking forward to layering once things cool down a touch, like this sweater from Gap (on major sale under $25!!!)
One of the things I always look for in cool weather pieces is versatility. Is it a piece I can wear multiple ways? Can I layer it to keep warm or wear it alone on a balmy day? Is it a classic piece? This last one is the biggest for be because my sweaters, coats, jackets, boots get so little wear I want to make sure they are timeless (or will at least be wearable for 2 -3 seasons). This year I am really purging my existing pieces and replacing them with some updates. I was first drawn to the color on this sweater, it’s a mix of white and dark blue which I seem to be loving lately, and then realized it’s such a great transitional piece thanks to it’s shorter length and loose fit. I (obviously) love it with shorts and sneakers on those cool mountain nights but I can’t wait to pair it over a white maxi with some booties once it cools off.
Hope you are all enjoying your Summer!
XO, Niki
