Happy Hump Day!  We are currently up in Joshua Tree (trying) to escape the heat of Palm Springs.  News flash: it’s not much of an escape at 112 degrees currently.  Someone get me to an ocean, STAT!

While we are up here I have been working on my forthcoming Travel Guide to JTree (ahhhhhh!) and hope to have it up for all of you before the cooler Fall weather.  We are staying at a friend’s AirBNB for a second time and it has been so nice to relax, read, watch movies, drink wine, and grill…why can’t the vacation vibes last forever???  While we are having some much needed down time I haven’t really been focusing on new OOTD content for you guys (sorry!) but to hold you over I thought I’d share some details of some recent Instagram posts.  If you aren’t already following me head over and click that FOLLOW button to see my daily style in real time plus some behind the scenes “real life” on my Insta Stories.

We took a second trip up to the Doug Aiken “Mirage” house in Palm Springs last week to show Chris’s son.  If you have an opportunity to check it out before it ends I highly recommend it!

I bought these shorts 2 years ago and was a little iffy about them.  Fast forward to this Summer and I can’t get enough of them!  They are a touch longer than some of my denim shorts and feel a little dressier plus they are a linen fabric that keeps me pretty cool in all this damn heat!

We spent a few weekends up in Arrowhead taking in cooler weather!  I have never stopped to take a photo at this turnout but I am so glad I did, look at that view!

So, our list trip up the mountain was legit FREEZING!  Okay, 43 degrees isn’t actually freezing but holy crap it felt cold after weeks of 100s in Palm Springs.  I was SO thankful that I left this oversized sweater at the house!

It was so cold at the last concert we went to I had to bundle up in a 3 layers and I was still freezing!

 We decided to check out the first Corks n Hops event in Crestline earlier in the month.  It was so fun (an a little unsettling) to walk thru town with wine in my glass.  The event is happening again the first Saturday of July, August, and September, if you have a chance to check it out you totally should!

I always make sure to get a lake walk or two in every time I head home, the 3 miles is so calming and it’s a great workout!

I always like to save the best for last.  How freakin’ cute are these new slides I picked up on Sunday???  I love the chartreuse color for Summer and they are under $20!!!  They also come in black & pale pink in case you need more than 1 pair.
