3 Reasons to Book a Stay La Quinta Resort

I love any excuse to pack up and head to a hotel…even for just a night.  Back in August Chris and I had the opportunity to escape to the La Quinta Resort & Spa for the night and we JUMPED at the chance!  La Quinta is about 30 minutes from our house in Palm Springs but feels like a completely different world since we rarely spend time on that end of the Valley.  We packed up the car, including Sarge, on a HOT Sunday afternoon and made the quick drive to the Resort.  If you have never experienced a stay at the legendary property you are most certainly missing out.  The hotel first opened back in 1926 on 1400 acres.  Over the years it has played host to a number of celebrities and dignitaries including Greta Garbo and Frank Capra.  If you have been thinking about booking a stay here are 4 reasons to do it now!

1. There are 41 pools.  Yes, you read that correctly.  The resort is spread over hundreds of acres and offers guests 41 pools.  Whether you are looking for a family friendly pool day, a relaxing adults only afternoon (complete with Veuve), or a private pool just outside your casita there is a pool scene just for you.

2. It’s a foodies haven.  Morgan’s, the signature restaurant, offers guests an exclusive dining experience complete with beautiful seafood, steaks, and wine…lots and lots of perfect wine.  Adobe Grill is a fun filled spot for Oxacan style Mexican food.  Think fresh seafood and table side guac.

3. The Holiday magic is in full effect.  Since Frank Capra considered La Quinta Resort his shangri-la (and even wrote part of “It’s A Wonderful Life” there) it’s no wonder the Holiday season shines bright!  There is a huge tree, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, holiday movies on the lawn, and it even snows.  My idea of perfection.

Now, what are you waiting for?  The Holiday season is the perfect time to sneak away for a little R&R.

XO, Niki
