Polo Sunday

Sunday Polo is kind of a thing here in the Desert this time of year.  There are two local polo clubs, Empire and Eldorado, that both kicked off the season last Sunday.  Some of you may remember that Chris and I attended Empire Polo Opening Day last season and were excited to be there again this year!  Both clubs are fantastic and offer great polo but we love the Empire goes all out for Opening Day and does “Hat Day” complete with a contest…I am all about a theme!  I planned my look literally weeks in advance and the only thing I slacked on was my hat.  I really wanted to find a unique fascinator or over the top Derby style hat but time honestly just slipped away from me so I went with my tried and true Janessa Leone hat.

If you have never been to a polo match I highly recommend watching the Polo scene from “Pretty Woman” for some incredible OOTD inspo.  Now, in all fairness not all polo spectators dress to the nines for the event, there are plenty of people in jeans, shorts, and tees but I will personally take any opportunity to dress up.  Last year I wore flat sandals but decided to up my game this time and went with a nude espadrille wedge that was super comfy and also perfect for walking around on the grass.  I kept my accessories easy and breezy…just a pair of rose gold hoops and my Cult Gaia bag for the ultimate polo chic look.

If you are interested in attending a polo match both local clubs offer Friday evening and Sunday afternoon polo through April 1.

XO, Niki
