Last weekend Chris and I packed our bags, hoped in the car, and headed to Vegas for a few days of fun, sunshine, and fraternity memories. Chris’s UNLV fraternity chapter is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year and a group of alumni organized a full weekend of cocktail parties, cabanas, and a huge dinner for Saturday night. Originally I was going to skip out and stay back in Palm Springs and let the boys be boys but at the last minute (seriously, the LAST minute) I decided to tag along. I have a few girlfriends in Vegas and knew that if the guys time got to be too much I had an easy escape plan. I never needed that escape plan. The guys were all so sweet and welcoming and there was just enough guy time and just enough us time.

We arrived in town after work on Friday and basically threw our stuff in the room and made our way to meet up with the guys from Chris’s years at Kappa Sig. We spent a few hours having cocktails at The Tropicana (because this whole weekend was a bit of a throw back we spent a lot of time at the The Trop) before heading to find a late night dinner. We decided to grab sliders and a sandwich at Tom’s Urban inside of New York New York and then topped it off with desert from Shake Shack…yummmmmmm!

Saturday daytime was a blur of a trip to the spa for a massage (bliss), Bloody Marys by the Trop pool, and some swim up Blackjack, which was so cool! We were cleaned up, dressed up, and off to the evening dinner in the Havana Room at The Trop by 6pm. We ate, we drank (a lot), we laughed, and I met a ton of wonderful guys that knew Chris way back when.

Sunday was filled with a boozy 5 hour brunch, a big nap after all the rosé, dinner and drinks at Atomic (aka the oldest freestanding bar in Vegas. Seriously, go and have lunch or dinner, the food is AMAZING!) and a walk down Freemont Street.

We were up and out pretty early on Monday to get back and ready for the week ahead but we did manage to sneak in a stop in Amboy (for a photo op, naturally) and the Mirage House in Palm Springs that I had been dying to see.

We have been home since Monday and I am already getting that itch to return to Vegas for a weekend of Niki activities like shopping, full days at the pool, and boujee dinners.
Happy Cinco!
XO, Niki
