24 Hours in San Diego

Happy Friday!  Can you all believe it’s the first weekend of 2019?  I have (finally) started digging out of the Holiday haze and finding a routine.  Just before Christmas we took a quick trip to San Diego to celebrate an early Christmas with Chris’s kids.  We booked a stay at The Kimpton Palomar and even brought Sarge along for the festivities.  Our room was perfect with a big balcony (which Sarge loved) and views of Downtown.  I honestly wish we had more time to experience the hotel but I did take advantage of the complimentary wine hour from 5pm – 6pm…fun fact: all Kimpton hotels offer a complimentary wine hour for guests, such a great amenity!

We decided on dinner at a spot in Little Italy, Harumama.  The menu is a beautiful mix of sushi, ramen, udon, bao bao buns, and character steamed buns.  I first discovered this spot on Instagram when Tamryn from Wannabe Fashion Blogger ate there over the Summer.  It has actually been on my radar ever since and I was so excited that Chris and the kids loved it! Pro Tip: Don’t miss the Pork Steamed Bun and the Egg Custard Steamed Bun.

After dinner Chris and I went to see the Pendry Pendry in San Diego.  I have been wanting to see the hotel since it opened and I was hardly disappointed.  The lobby is beautiful, the restaurants are the perfect mix of casual and boujee, and the Christmas decor was on point!  We ended our night having drinks at a dive bar on 6th, Stout.

Before heading to my family’s for Christmas Eve we had a relaxing breakfast at Cafe21, a favorite of mine for years.  They have literally the BEST Bloody Mary in San Diego and their farm to table menu is always amazing.

While our trip was short and sweet it was so nice to experience some new spots and enjoy time with family.

XO, Niki
