Sundays Are For Brunching

Sunday is hands down my favorite day of the week for a number of reasons…football in the Fall, Bloody Marys, a day that Chris and I are off together, sleeping in, and of course, brunch.  I am not sure when my love affair with brunch began…probably back in my childhood thanks to my Grandma!  My very first Sunday brunch memory is probably 30 years ago when I was 6 or 7.  It was Mother’s Day and we had a brunch planned for my Grandma at a hotel on the beach in Ventura.  The restaurant was on the top floor of the high rise building and I was so excited to learn that the dinning room actually rotated ever so slowly so that no matter where you were seated an ocean view was guaranteed.  I can still vividly remember getting dressed up, riding the elevator up, and eating delightful brunch treats like Waffles and Eggs Benedict.

Fast forward 30 years and my love affair with brunch continues.  We don’t “do brunch” every weekend like I did in my 20s but when we do it is always something I look forward to.  I have favorite spots scattered around the places I have been: Bouchon in Beverly Hills, Snooze in San Diego, Bardot in Las Vegas, and about a dozen others that I drool over.

Hands down my favorite spot to brunch here in Palm Springs is Farm.  I first discovered this little, hidden gem about 3 1/2 years ago through Katy of Palm Springs Style when we planned a lunch date.  The spot was so charming that I was instantly in love…if only with the design!  I can’t remember exactly what we ordered that day…I think I had a savory crepe…but I do remember it was DIVINE! I ran home and told Chris all about this amazing spot and begged for brunch soon.  Not too long after that day we made our way downtown into the La Plaza area and walked down the path that leads behind the shops to find bright pink bougainvillea and a small host stand waiting for us.  We took a seat and enjoyed French Press coffee, Bloody Marys, and another delightful meal.

Since that day we have been back more times than I can remember including the day we went to pick up Sarge from the shelter (awwww), for Chris’s birthday, with out of town friends, and even with Sarge.  Every time we go the experience is the same…wonderful!  The food is always, always amazing and the ambiance is by far the cutest in Palm Springs.

Must Try:

The Chicken and Waffles

The Breakfast Sandwich

A Bloody Mary

Rose all Day

Pro Tip:

There is always a wait on the weekends and Farm does not take reservations so plan ahead and arrive early or get your name on the list and walk around the corner to sample some wine a Jalama Wines Tasting Room.
