TGIF!  Does anyone else feel like their Holiday social calendar is already filling up?  I realized I need to start thinking about Holiday cocktail attire and living in Palm Springs that has a totally different meaning than say LA or NYC.  First of all it’s typically still in the 60s at night so coats, thick tights, brocade, and cashmere are out of place and are only worn about 3 weeks a year.  Second, Palm Springs is a vacation destination and a second home to most so NO ONE dresses up and everyone holds on to the bright aesthetic of the town year round.  So what’s a girl to do?  I decided to look for pieces that I can wear to a cocktail party in December or in April by sticking to a more neutral color palate (hello blush, I’m talking to you).  I can easily add a wine colored blazer or velvet shoe to this Banana Republic dress and instantly change the vibe.  A pair of tights, cuz I’m such a rebel, with booties and a cashmere scarf is the perfect pairing for a dressier Thanksgiving dinner while a leather jacket and these statement heels make the dress perfect for date night.
