Keeping It Real Round 4

Hey hey hey!  I hope you are all having an amazing week so far, I have been crazy adjusting to….a new schedule!  For those of you confused, allow me to elaborate.  Back in June I found out that the store I had been managing since November would be closing when the lease was up, a few months later.  After some initial shock (and tears) I decided to stay through the end and prolong starting a new job.  Fast forward to last week and I officially started working for a local boutique brand, Elizabeth & Prince, that has 3 stores in the Palm Springs area.  I know I just started but I am honestly SO happy with my decision to forgo corporate (and all the perks) in favor of a small company with owners I think so highly of.

In other news, it’s been a while since I have done a “Keeping it Real” post and have some questions that I have been meaning to answer so here goes!

1. What are some of your favorite beauty products and why do you never mention them?

Great question.  I have never considered myself a beauty product girl.  I wear makeup but don’t go crazy for it, I do my hair everyday but don’t buy the newest styling products/tools, and I am honestly pretty bad at skin care…no judgement!  But, since you asked I just discovered Sephora’s airbrush foundation and am OBSESSED!  The finish is so flawless and it lasts all day, something I struggle with since my skin tends to be a bit oily.  I also love Benefit’s Hello Flawless powder either to set my foundation or as a coverup on days off.  I swear by MAC eyeliner in Graph Black and Buxom lipgloss in Dolly on a daily basis.  MAC makes the best eye shadow and lipstick, in my opinion.

I also recently discovered Sephora’s K beauty masks and eye patches which I buy like crazy.  I use Sephora’s face wipes in Coconut, Charcoal, and Rose daily.  I typically remove my makeup at night with Charcoal and then use the Rose to hydrate.  After my morning shower I use the Coconut Water to purify my skin and prep it for the day.

Matrix hairspray, Not your Mother’s Beach Waves, Sachajuan Hair in The Sun, and Drybar Dry Shampoo are my go to styling products.

I have sworn by Kai fragrance, body scrub, and lotion since my mid 20s.

2. What brand of jeans do you wear?

I HATE shopping for jeans.  Is there anything worse…well, yes, bikini shopping is worse….but you get the idea.  I have found that Hudson and Paige are both cut for more curvy body types so I tend to stick with those brands.  I adore Rag & Bone but they are just too straight for my body type.  If I am playing with a more trendy silhouette like the kick crops or unfinished hem I go with Express or Old Navy for the price point before investing in an expensive pair.

3.  Are you ever going to share photos of your house?

YES, I promise I will.  It has been a work in progress since moving in and I finally feel that things are almost ready to be photographed.  I am campaigning for a redo of the bedroom/closet space that I would like to include and we need to finish our outdoor space but soon!!!

4. Do you listen to podcasts and if so, which ones?

I got into podcasts about a year ago.  I listen to Straight up with Stassi, Be Here For A While, Adderall & Compliments, The Bitch Bible, and Raw Talk with Sheena…thanks to Stassi for introducing all her friends to the podcast world, I now have plenty to listen to!
