Hey guys! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, I sure did!  I feel like we crammed so much into the 2 days we had together that I woke up this morning exhausted!   I have been running around like a crazy person for the past few weeks and haven’t had an opportunity to shoot any new looks…I’m sorry!!!  so today I am sharing a roundup of recent posts on Instagram (@thedarlingniki) for all of you who have asked questions.

Last week we spent a few days at The Chateau at Lake La Quinta.  Chris worked while I slept in, drank coffee, sat at the bar with my laptop, and napped (sorry babe!).  It was nice to get into a different space to focus my energy on the blog and work.

On Saturday morning we took a Desert Jeep tour into the San Andreas Fault.  Honestly, when Chris told me where we were going I was SO scared and had this Hollywood version of what the fault would look like…lol.  It was so cool to see the fault, learn more about the topography of the Valley, and go inside of a natural palm oasis.  I would HIGHLY recommend booking a Jeep tour of your own if you are ever in the Palm Springs area. We did the Signature Tour in case you were wondering.

We finally made it up to Idyllwild, about 90 minutes from Palm Springs in the local mountains.  I have been hearing about this quaint town since my Sophomore year of college when I made friends with a girl who grew up there.  She would always tell as stories that started “This one time, in Idyllwild…” lol.  I can’t believe it has taken me 15 years to finally see where all those stories took place!  The town is honestly so cute! We had brunch a The Gastrognome, one of the local spots with a beautiful patio and total mountain town vibe.  We didn’t have too much time to spent but are already planning a return trip for a weekend of art, yoga, and wine.
