We spent our first night in Mammoth at Sierra Nevada Resort and Spa in one of their super charming Spa Suites. I loved the HUGE cozy bed and heated floors in the bathroom.
Our second day of vacation was spent driving from Mammoth to Lake Tahoe. The drive isn’t too long (about 3 hours) and takes you thru the Eastern Sierras. Mono Lake was one of the first stops for us.
We stopped in the most charming town along Highway 395, Bridgeport, for a dipped ice cream cone and coffee. How adorable is this place?!?
We finally make it to South Lake Tahoe where it was cold and rainy! We had lunch at Blue Angel Cafe with Sarge (look at that face!) before my mani appointment near Heavenly. After the pampering I met up with the BF for a quick beer and warming up at this fire pit.
Yes, I actually took this photo on our drive from South Lake up to Incline Village. It is literally the eye of the storm!
I secretly enjoyed the cool weather and being able to curl up in a sweater with my morning coffee.

Our AirBNB in Incline Village, NV. We seriously could not have asked for better hosts!
If you ever find yourself in Incline Village DO NOT miss Bite! Chris found the self described “American Tapas” restaurant on Yelp ahead of time and we were blown away! The cocktails were amazing and the food was out of this world!!! We even had to order 2 rounds of the Lobster Sliders….I’m drooling just remembering how delish they were…
A friend lives in Tahoe and told us we had to try Alibi Ale Works before we left. We popped in for a quick beer before heading to a BBQ that some friends were throwing and it was worth the stop! They brew a handful of their own beers in house and offer an environment where customers are encouraged to bring in their own food and play board games while sipping on unique ales.
Finally, a photo of Chris and I!
A lunch stop at Freshie’s in South Lake for a pint (or 3) of Pliny.

After our massages and a dinner we spent our night back in Mammoth drinking and playing Scrabble. Yup, we are getting old and I’m not even upset about it!
Oh. My. Carb. Overload!!! Schat’s Bakery is right up my German girl alley! I could not help myself and picked up donuts, biscotti, croissants, coffee….sooooo good!

Confession: I had never gone horse back riding. I have always wanted to try but it was never something my city loving, party girl friends were up for. Thank goodness for the BF thinking of such a fun and unique vacation activity! I was a little nervous but the guides at Mammoth Lakes Pack Outfit and my horse, Badger, quickly put me at ease. The hour ride was over way to quickly for my liking but I can’t wait to get out for my next ride!
Last full day of vacay!

Sarge had so much fun on our trip! I think the last day, hanging out at Mammoth Brewery really did him in!
Before leaving Mammoth we did one last stop at Schats (obvi) and drove just outside of town to Twin Lakes where we enjoyed coffee, pastries, and this perfect view.
I know I took forever to get all the posts from our vacation up so thank you for being patient! We had such an amazing trip and enjoyed every moment of being in Northern California. It was a little bitter sweet to come back to the heat and to reality but we have already begun planning next year’s trip (eek!). I hope I was able to give you all some great recommendations if you are planning a trip to Mammoth or Tahoe! Be sure to check out my other vacay posts for a few more recommendations HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
As always, thank you so much for reading!
XO, Niki
